Garden of Tolerance

Garden of Tolerance

Belek is a rich and unique destination in sociological sense in addition to its natural richness. The most explicit example for this is the Garden of Tolerance serving guests from all around the world with different religious and denominational backgrounds, in a common garden of fraternity.

Visitors of Belek can worship in the Garden of Tolerance which symbolizes the union of religion reflecting love, tolerance and fraternity for ages in Anatolia. With a mosque, church (chapel) and a synagogue opening to a common yard, the Garden of Tolerance has been introduced to visitors on December 8, 2004 by BETUYAB. Weekly religious ceremonies, Noel and Easter masses, wedding ceremonies and various special shows are organized in the Garden of Tolerance, the first worshipping center in a tourism center.

Guidelines for Demonstrating Respect, Etiquette, and Courtesy in Places of Worship (Temples)

Showing reverence to God, regardless of one's religious beliefs, involves entering places of worship such as temples, mosques, churches, and synagogues in suitable, clean, and respectable attire, as well as conducting oneself with dignity and reverence while inside. Any actions that disturb the worship, such as making noise, speaking loudly, laughing, smoking, taking unauthorized photographs or videos, or sitting or lying down with feet outstretched are considered disrespectful.

Showing respect to worshippers is crucial while inside the temple. Therefore, it is considered impolite to walk in front of someone who is actively worshipping.

In adherence to Islamic customs, it is deemed inappropriate to enter mosques wearing shorts, revealing clothing, or shoes. To display respect and consideration, women are advised to cover their heads when entering the mosque, even for non-worship purposes. While attending prayer in a mosque, it is important to comply with religious regulations and conduct oneself in accordance with the guidance of the clergy and the congregation.
